R13 530 per year, over 10 months
School fees for 2026 are R13 530 per year. They are paid over 10 months, so R1 353 a month, and are due before the 7th of every month.
Grade R fees are collected quarterly and must be paid in advance.
The school’s banking details are in the front of the homework book. Please send your proof of payment to admin@rvs.co.za.
Parents who cannot afford the full amount can apply for exemption according to the department’s scales. Please speak to the office in confidence.
Uniform and the clothing bank
Learners wear the prescribed summer and winter uniform. If your child has to wear something else for a while, please send a note.
The clothing bank sells all school clothing at cost, except socks, shoes and school jerseys. It is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 13:30 to 14:30.
Please mark all your child’s clothing clearly with his or her name.
If your child is ill or absent
Please call the school before 09:00 on the day your child is absent, or send a note when your child returns.
If your child is absent for more than two days, you must hand in a doctor’s note.
Learners are responsible for catching up on work they missed.
The office number is 023 626 3139.
How the school communicates with you
Every learner gets a free homework book. Circulars, requests and messages between parents and teachers go through the homework book. Please sign the homework and every circular each day.
At the start of the year there is an information evening in the hall, after which parents go to the classrooms to hear about class arrangements.
In the first week of terms 2, 3 and 4 there are ten minute parent meetings. Appointments are sent to you by letter.
Notices and urgent messages are sent through the d6 app. The school’s Facebook group is used for photos of school events.
Stationery
Learners in Grade R and Grade 1 buy a full stationery pack from the secretary. The pack is compulsory.
All stationery must be at school on the first day of the year. Teachers will let you know through the homework book when something needs replacing.
School rules and code of conduct
The code of conduct is based on Christian principles and was drawn up by the governing body in terms of the South African Schools Act. We maintain discipline mainly through a reward system, which is reviewed every year and given to parents in writing.
Learners are expected to be polite and loyal, to arrive on time and to treat school property with respect. The full rules on behaviour, appearance and hair are in the documents below.
