We accept applications for Grade R and Grade 1 to Grade 3. Below we explain how the process works and what you need to have ready.

Applications for 2027

Applications for 2027 are open until 31 October 2026. Late applications are considered while there is space.

How the application process works

  1. Read the conditions

    Read the admission conditions below. By applying, you accept them.

  2. Complete the application form

    Download the right form for your child’s grade and complete it in full.

  3. Hand it in at the office

    Bring the form and all the documents on the list to the school office.

  4. Wait for the outcome

    The school will let you know by 30 November 2026 whether your child has been placed.

Documents to hand in with the form

  • Certified copy of your child’s full birth certificate
  • Copy of your child’s immunisation card (the Road to Health booklet)
  • Certified copies of both parents’ or guardians’ identity documents
  • Proof of residential address, not older than three months
  • Your child’s latest school report, for Grade 1 to 3

Admission conditions

The governing body sets the school’s admission conditions, and the principal applies them in practice. This is a summary. The full policy is available as a document.

  1. The school falls under the Western Cape Education Department and follows the department’s policies and regulations.
  2. The school has a Christian character. Parents and learners are asked to respect it.
  3. Teaching is in Afrikaans and English.
  4. The school does not discriminate against any learner on the grounds of race, gender or religious belief.
  5. A learner’s age is strictly managed according to the department’s guidelines.
  6. Parents and learners undertake to follow the school’s code of conduct.
  7. School fees are compulsory. Parents who qualify can apply for exemption according to the department’s scales.
  8. Learners wear the prescribed school uniform.

Which grades does RVS offer?

Robertson Preparatory School offers Grade R to Grade 3. There are three classes in every grade.

What language will my child be taught in?

Teaching is in Afrikaans. Every grade also has one dual medium class, where Afrikaans and English are both taught as home language.

How old must my child be?

According to the department’s guidelines, a child must turn five by 30 June of the year they start Grade R, and six by 30 June of the year they start Grade 1.

How much are the school fees?

School fees for Grade 1 to 3 are R13 530 per year, payable over 10 months. Grade R fees are paid quarterly in advance.

Do I need to buy a stationery pack?

Yes, for Grade R and Grade 1. The full pack is compulsory and can be bought from the secretary.
